National Association of Bond Lawyers (NABL)

NABL stands for the National Association of Bond Lawyers.  NABL was established in 1979 to promote the integrity of the municipal market.  NABL is a nonprofit corporation that exists to educate members and others in bond law, and also to advise on municipal obligations at all levels of government.

One of the forums operated by NABL is the NABL Bond Attorneys’ Workshop.  With the high level of IRS and SEC regulation and enforcement, the NABL BAW is the best forum for bond lawyers to update their regulatory knowledge while commiserating with the largest gathering of bond lawyers in the US.

The 2010 NABL workshop focused on the new provisions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA).  Among topics, the 2010 NABL workshop addressed the challenges of IRS requirements and examinations pertaining to the regulation of Build America Bonds (BABs) from ARRA.
